Hello! I am a caring, active, honest, passionate, respectable man with a quick wit and a logical mind. I am tall, average weight, bespectacled, and I have short dark brown hair and brown eyes. I am of English descent and a 2nd generation Canadian. I currently live in Newfoundland but am open to long distance in the short term if relocation here is possible. Values that are important to me inc...
I (mid-20s M) have been with my fiancée (late 20s F) for about 4 months. Almost the entire relationship has revolved around severe addiction and crisis management. When we started dating, I underestimated how serious it was. I thought it was a willpower issue. I believed that with structure, stability, and the right resources, she could stop. I treated it like something we could fix together. It ...
It is often said that Zen is about "being in the moment, being in the now." But it's actually much more radical than that. When one sits Zazen, one drops away thoughts of the future, existing only as dreams in our mind, possibilities ... and one drops away thoughts of the past, which are just memories also of the mind. In such case, what need even for "now?" Drop that away...

The Wind of Essence — Rasa, Prāṇa, and the Living Body in Indian Thought # I. Introduction: A Word Between Worlds Language in the Sanskrit tradition is never merely instrumental. Words carry weight — etymological, philosophical, and cosmological — and compound terms in Āyurveda and classical Indian thought are often doorways into entire systems of understanding the world. Rasavātam ...
Yeah, I've been watching The Pitt and the new season of Scrubs lately, so I've just got med dramas on the mind. Figured it might be fun to write one. Kitzz gets a bit of character development in this one. Kitzz on the warpath or tied up as a patient, lot more ornery than Kitzz in his element as a cocky surgeon. He's a little simmered down in this one because he's working. Gotta stay focused on sho...

I’ve been shopping at Aldi since they opened in my town more than a year ago. I go approx 1x a week every week since they opened as I do 98% of my grocery shopping there. I have never seen organic fat free / skim milk as an option. Do your local stores carry fat free organic milk? I’ve asked the staffers a few times and they say they carry it but again…never seen it.
I've been using Ibotta for grocery runs pretty regularly and I think I'm following the rules, but bonuses are acting weird. Example: I start at one store, scan a few items to make sure they match, then later in the same trip I go to another store and add a couple offers there. After I upload the first receipt the bonus tracker looks fine for a bit. Then after I upload the second receipt the bo...
Back in 2014 ish in the UK, shops used to sell these mini bags of haribo, really tiny bags and they'd have about 10-15 sweets in per bag. These specifically were the tiny strawbs. I recently bought a bag online that I thought were them, but the bag was a "share size" and the strawbs themselves were about 2cm/1inch in diameter. The strawbs I'm thinking of were 1/2 a centimetre or maybe ju...

Good morning! People often ask where I get my story ideas. I wish I could say I sit down with a tidy outline, a cup of tea, and a healthy imagination… but the truth is far less structured. My stories don’t politely introduce themselves — they arrive all at once, bags unpacked, feet up on the furniture, and absolutely convinced their tale must be told immediately. They do not wait for conve...

Mutual Aid Monday is a weekly thread where we come together to support each other, share resources, and organize for our communities. The goal is to create resilience and solidarity. Authoritarianism will be a slow erosion of norms disguised as legal actions or "reforms". Having strong local and online networks for information-sharing, organizing, and mutual aid can make a huge differenc...
