Walmart will begin adding tap-to-pay options at select U.S. stores and Sam’s Club locations Aug. 24, with plans to expand the service nationwide by the end of 2026, the company announced Friday.

The tap-to-pay option has long been a want of Walmart customers.

Walmart stock keeps falling Friday but some on Wall Street believe it’s an opportunity to buy shares on the cheap.

Customers and members will also be able to add eligible Walmart, Sam’s Club and OnePay cards to their digital wallets, simplifying the checkout process even further.

Walmart said it is adding tap-to-pay to its checkout stations starting this week, allowing contactless cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Walmart and Sam’s Club will begin rolling out tap-to-pay options at U.S. stores this month, with nationwide availability expected by year’s end.
