Tiny rainbow line

Dropped my iPhone and now have this tiny (1cm) rainbow line on the screen. Screen is in tack, cannot feel any cracks. I suspect I fractured the LCD. Anyone else have experience with this? I went to the apple store, they told me they will replace the battery but I have seen online that they often replace the phone. The screen isn't cracked but has warped enough where i can see the internals (maybe 1/2 a cm). is this standard procedure? I feel like I'll be left holding the bag if i have screen issues later on..
