If I had the option to be the smartest person in the world or an average person with down syndrome, I would 100% pick down syndrome

I’ve said this for years, but I wouldn’t mind having down syndrome. my little sister has ds and yeah, there’s a lot of things she can’t do but she is the happiest mf I’ve ever seen. The average person with down syndrome it just kind of gets to do what they want and have like a day job at a grocery store or something honestly, that sounds pretty sick.

Lock for electric scooter? (big long handcuff lock)

Hi, about to buy an electric scooter, not for daily use more as a backup means of transportation, it will be parked in my apartment, inside at work and then...outside the grocery store so need to buy some kind of lock. This kind of lock looks a bit interesting, one end on the frame loop it around a pole and then back to the frame, no name cost 30€ on amazon and up to 55€ for locks stamped wit...

How do I get my puppy to trust me ?

I adopted a 2 month old puppy from the adoption shelter. He does love cuddling with me and is friendly meeting new people , but there are some huge concerns I have . When we’re home and he hears or sees me coming he runs to his crate in fear . When I call his name he just stares at me and never comes . Sometimes he will run and hide under my bed when he sees me coming . When I walk close to his...

Frustrated

I'm 30F and was diagnosed at 15yo. I've been through several biologics including Enbrel, Humira, Remicade (and Avsola), Cosentyx, and Cimzia. I've been taking Rinvoq 15mg since July 2025 to see if a different class of medications would help and have not felt much benefit. My CRP tells this story well for the last 3 years, as shown in the graph pictured. With an outlier in 11/2025 at 6mg/L when I ...

Calling out sick from work; opinions?

I just got a job at the local grocery store. I make minimum wage, which in my state is $15.15/hr. My hours are incredibly inconsistent; sometimes I work 10 hours a week, sometimes 28. It’s a fine job, the people are kind and the work itself is relatively easy for me. I don’t have to pay bills or rent, just $25/week for gas and put money into savings. My entire life, I’ve been surrounded by...

Advice Needed on my Ambitious Birthday Cake Attempt for Husband

Hope this is okay as it’s not a recipe request but is seeking advice for a variety of things. I LOVE baking, but due to many circumstances, don’t get to do it often, so I’m sort of an experienced-noob lol. I even worked in a grocery store bakery to help as needed when I primarily worked in the deli, so I got to learn but not learn enough to do everything the bakers did. My husband isn’t b...

Help finding ethnically diverse neighborhoods with great micromobility

I am a 23y.o. guy with a remote job moving to NYC at the end of the month. I am making my list of neighborhoods I want to target and my two nonnegotiables are that the area needs to have great micromobility, so not just good transit but good bike and walking infrastructure allowing me easy access to the daily needs of life. And it it needs to be an ethnically diverse area. For me this means there ...

Looking for the cheapest US city for a car-free, remote-work lifestyle

"I am in my 20s, single, and work 100% remotely. My lifestyle is very simple: as long as I can go to a grocery store and a gym every day, I’m happy. I don't need any other forms of entertainment as I'm satisfied with the internet. I’ve been researching the most affordable cities in the US for this lifestyle, and I’m currently leaning towards Milwaukee. My reasoning is that in the ...

Burst pipe in HMART?

Besides the fact that the produce is really poor quality and all other Asian goods are marked up a ridiculous amount which is typical for HMART, I walked in today only to be met with the most disgusting smell walking through the initial produce section and such a bunch of paper towels bunched up and wet to dry up what I guess was a burst pipe or something? I don't know if it was sewage or what A...

28 [M4F] Philly/NJ/Delaware/nearby areas- Hoping to turn forever alone into just forever.

Good morning/afternoon/evening/whenever this post may find you, and may it find you well! Title is cheesy, I know. But it's who I am, and I'm tired of feeling like I have to tone myself down in order to get into a relationship. I'm a pretty standard young man looking for a young lady to spend the rest of my days with. I've known that I've wanted this since I was a young kid and over 20 years later...

I miss life before the baby.

18 days postpartum. I miss being able to get up and just go to the grocery store with my husband on a whim. I miss being able to just go out anywhere without having to think about packing anything extra or being worried about feeding, burping and changing a baby. I miss the closeness I felt with my husband. He loves me and is helpful but I feel like our connection isn’t as strong post baby...

I wish people treated toddlers in public as well as they did dogs

I wish my daughter was just as welcome in public spaces as dogs are. I don't mean like people stop what they're doing to fawn over the cuteness but just the same level of grace given. My 16month old was whining the usual "nnnnnngh" sound toddlers make around this age. We were grocery shopping and she wanted to be held and was whining and trying to crawl out of the shopping cart seat she...

What are we using for van security?

Happy Sunday everyone. Got my new(to me) work van a month ago and tbh I’ve got a killer setup inside there. Can’t wait to show everyone when it’s finished… Anyways what are we using to secure it? Thunderbolt locks? Puck locks? Alarm system? Dashcam/interior cameras? While I’m home it’s in my garage which has cameras in there anyways. So I’m not exactly worried about security while ...
