Running shoe for building mountaineering endurance
I am looking to get a shoe for some zone 2 runs at around a 9:30/mile pace, probably about 8-10 miles a week to start (2 days/week) and increasing from there. I aspire to mountaineer but obviously need to build the cardio for it. I currently have New Balance Arishi v4s that need replacing. I am 5’10” 145lbs if it matters.
I am unsure which shoe would be best, I’ve looked at the following

991v2 Licorice & Lavender “Essentially Offbeat”
This colorway is something I would not usually find myself with.
Although pictures do this no justice, the lavender color in-person looks stunning.
Additionally, believe the hype, this is the first “made-in UK” shoe I have worn and immediately thought, “Damn, I could wear these all day…” The fuel cell is well executed in these, not mushy at all.
I even find myself wearing them in my ...

I have been using New Balance 860s for the past 4ish years (not the same ones obviously I switch out around 400-500 miles) and they have been great. Recently I have been increasing my mileage, very gradually over the past couple months(from 40-45 in October to 45-50 for the past \~9 weeks), and my shins have been hurting on every run for the past \~6 weeks. This has never really happened before, o...

I'm a beginner runner looking for a shoe rec. I have a "tailors bunion" which just means I have a super wide mid/forefoot. I measure as a 4E (extra wide) but my foot is widest in the middle, not in the toe.
Anyone have any suggestions for my foot type? I generally like New Balance but am open to anything.
Does anybody know any details about a New Balance store opening in the city? If so, when and where would it be?

Is the New Balance SC elite v5 still a good pick in 2026? I am thinking of buying a new race shoe for the Chicago Marathon, currently rocking Adios pro 4 but kinda looking for a more comfortable ride. My options have basically reduced to Endorphin Elite 3 or the SC Elite v5. Which pros and cons of both should I consider?
I recently finished my first marathon wearing only Nike vomero plus as my shoes through training and the race itself. I love them in every way except I kept having reoccurring blood blisters on my big toes in the same spot on each foot. I’m thinking maybe a need a wider toe box?
I am a heavier runner at 250 lb (\~113 kg) and I am a slow runner (my marathon took me 6.5 hours) so I need comfy sh...
