2004 Honda Pilot - overdue trans and diff change. Doable myself in a parking lot?

I have done a lot of repairs on this car myself. I recently lost my garage and lift and do not have a public place to work. I bought a 3 ton jack from harbor freight and recently did the oil myself. Easy job. What I’ worried about are cops harassing me for doing work in a public place. Are trans and diff fluid doable jobs for a diyer in a public parking lot? I have all the stuff I need but ha...

Skywest tool setup

I might be getting hired for skywest and im looking for input on a tool setup that's budget friendly and functional. I already have maybe half the tools on the recommended list they provide from my personal use. Mostly harbor freight stuff but has been reliable for me. What sort of tool box do you recommend and tools that have been affordable and reliable. I realize there might be a few tools ...

Badly Stripped screw

2001 Lexus ls430. Badly stripped screw , already tried a harbor freight removal kit and the bit broke on my when I tried to go deeper. I also took my multi tool to try to make a cut for a flat head but the bolt head isnt tall enough to make a deep cut for the flathead to grab. Just experimenting at this point, but the broken bit inside definitely makes it worse now. Any advice appreciated

Looking for knowledge

I'm in no way new to firearms or much of anything to do with them but am now looking at the one thing I have no knowledge in. I have done plenty of traveling with my firearms but have never flown with one. I just want to make sure I'm good to go first time and not have any issues. I'll only be taking my personal protection carry pistol. I was figuring on using a small Apache case (harbor freight...

Pet-Cock /Drain -Cock still stocked?

I used to get my drain cocks for my air compressor at my local harbor freight all the time. The last few times I've been there I haven't even seen where they would be if they had them in stock. Does anybody know if they stopped carrying them? It's unfortunate because they break all the time and I have a surprisingly hard time finding them at other hardware stores.

Hey all, warranty question. Bought an 8 inch drill press and noticed a crack in the table after assembly.

Heading explains it, bought it yesterday and put it together today, can I call Harbor Freight and request a replacement table or do I have to bring the whole unit back for a total replacement, and if I have to bring it back to have to disassemble and try and fit it back in the box? First time ever having to deal with a return/replacement, appreciate any insight.

Damn you harbor freight!

I couldn’t pass up on the 20% off coupon from this past weekend, on top of that I managed to get another 10% off the box due to some ever so slight defects… SCORE!

Updating the Suspension on a '94 in 2026

I don't share much on here cuz my last project is the kind of half-complete procrastination-inducing nightmare that makes you want to give up on cars altogether. Basically, bought a rusty basket case several years ago that was "not that bad," but it was. You can see it as it sits in the background of picture 4 & 5. My buddy finds a same year, same color, same option package bein...

Fix a Harbor Freight Hydraulic Jack? Possible?

I can't quite figure out how this thing works, but one of the two cylinders is stuck down, and it won't lift anything. I tried topping off the fluid, but it's a no-go. Is it a nice aluminum paperweight now? Interestingly, I have an incredibly heavy steel one that is ancient but still works. Made a Gridfinity bin for the Pittsburgh Pro mini screwdriver set (item 97517) so I could ditch the original case

The case that comes with the Pittsburgh Pro 30-piece mini screwdriver set takes up way more drawer space than the tools actually need. I Designed a 1×3 Gridfinity bin that holds the driver, tweezers, and all the bits. No supports needed, fits the set perfectly. I'm much happier that I now have these tools in my main toolbox rather than needing to look for the sent when I need it. Free fil...

Mavic 4 Pro in Apache 3800 case

The case that came with the Mavic is fine for causal use but I travel a lot, and wanted a case which protects it. B&H have the Nanak case for $200+ but it doesn’t fit as a personal item on a US carrier and I normally have a bag for my clothes/laptop etc. The Harbor Freight Apache 3800 is $32 with members discount and at 16x11x6”, fits in the personal item sizer for US airlines. 330i Homemade Exhaust

Just wanted to show off my homemade fab. My welds are pretty garbage, but I'm just a hobbyist and I'm proud of how it turned out. In short, I originally bought Schmiedmann headers + Midpipes, but the midpipes were making heavy contact with the transmission brace (5spd manual), so it went from me trying to fix that, to almost a full exhaust system. Overall, it's Schmiedmann Headers -> 2.25i...

Young DIY’er starting from scratch. Essential tools? Nice-to-haves?

Looking for some advice on building out a proper toolbox for the first time. Thinking the US General 56” tool box. I picked up a 3rd gen 4runner last year for road tripping and to learn to wrench on better. I want to know what tools should be considered essential and at the top of my list, and what I should keep an eye out for to get eventually as nice-to-haves. Decent income and savings, so I ...
