Latest Discussions and Reviews About Kroger Stores in USA

Just got an interview from Kroger, but just got hired at Walmart. What should I do?

So both of them are nearby and the Kroger pays about $1.75 more and I literally just got hired at Walmart the day before they sent me the interview and accepted the job offer. Can I still interview for Kroger or would they be able to see that I just got hired at Walmart and say no? Also, to those of you who may have worked at both types of stores, what is it like Should I choose Kroger or Walmart...

Interesting Dynamic

The subreddit is quite different from the reality in the stores I've worked at. The amount of misery here is wild and makes me wonder if many of are just in poorly ran stores. I can tell you with absolutely certainty, working at Mendards, for years now, has been hundreds of times better than I worked at Walmart, Target, and Kroger. At Walmart, just no one cares and nothing ever gets done. Ma...

AAA Daily Advantage Visa – Policy Change (May 15, 2026). It's hurting!!!

I just received a notice about an upcoming **policy change to the AAA Daily Advantage Visa Signature card**, effective **May 15, 2026**, and I wanted to see how others feel about it. **Summary of the changes (as I understand them):** **Gas rewards** * Still earn rewards at **traditional standalone gas stations** * Still earn rewards at **wholesale club gas stations (Costco, Sam’s, etc.)** * ...

Trying to find cheapest price per unit on rice and beans, where do you shop

I keep seeing posts about rice and beans being the ultimate budget food but every time I go to the store the prices seem way higher than people quote online. Dry beans at my kroger are like $2.50/lb now. Rice is $1.50/lb for the cheap stuff. That's not exactly pennies. Meanwhile I see people saying they eat for $2 a day and I'm doing the math like... how? Are you buying 50lb bags somewhere? ...

3%+ grocery/dining alternatives to Savor

Is there a **cashback** credit card out there **that offers 3% or higher** on dining **AND** groceries aside from Capital One Savor that is: 1. not American Express (ideally Visa, but will accept MC suggestions) AND 2. universal and uncapped (i.e. not restricted to grocery purchases from a particular grocery store - like WFM/Prime Visa) 3. Like the Savor, no annual fee 4. Not a debit card (there...

It could happen to YOU✨

Driving back from visiting a friend and I scored some incredible Valentine's clearance, PLUS I FOUND NOMI. I've never had great luck finding stuff at CVS (I don't find much squish stock at all in New England CVSss for some reason) but Nomi was there waiting for me, sitting on the top of the pile of Easter squish. Milanda the donkey was there too, 50% off. Then my biggest surprise was Judo the sn...

Halal Market berry and chicken haul

I got all of these berries (3 blueberries, 9 blackberries, 6 strawberries), chickens, whole apricot jam, and an orange juice maker thingy for only $34 and some change. The first picture is what it looks like in my trunk. All from the local Halal Market near me. They have the best deals. I don't shop at corporate grocery stores. This would have cost me an arm and a leg if I got it from Kroger or Al...

Reported Security Guard at my local Kroger

Yesterday after I left work, I stopped by my local Kroger to pick up some groceries and check the Pokemon Vending Machine. I checked when I walked in, it was empty (as usual). I proceeded to shop around the store and then check the machine again before leaving. There was a guy checking the machine and he kindly let me know the machine was still sold out. However... the stores security guard was st...

Here’s my theory: SNAP quietly functions as rural and low-income grocery stimulus. Because benefits can only be spent on food and get used fast, they inject steady demand into thin-margin stores. That keeps food deserts from getting worse and smooths out local economic volatility.

Here’s what I actually think. SNAP isn’t some Hallmark Channel compassion program. It survives because it moves money. Fast. Direct. Predictably. Benefits can only be spent on food, and they get spent immediately. That’s straight pass-through revenue to grocery stores — Kroger, regional chains, independents, convenience stores. In low-income or rural areas where margins are thin, predicta...

The number of folks asking me about items we literally don't have in the store astounds me

"No sir, we're a grocery store, we don't carry Pokemon cards" "Ma'am, we don't have a tire center here..." "While some Krogers DO have a Starbucks, it's usually out front; how many of these stores you been to have a Starbucks in the back?" "What do you mean you need new tires? Sir this is a Grocery Store... Wal-Mart is that way. Where the heck are these id...

Run Run Run Let's All Run

The past week or so I've been being sent to another towns Kroger's grocery to shop, which is roughly 11 miles only to return where I originally was to deliver. Literally been sitting in hometown Kroger's and delivery would be 1/2 mile away, but instead it's 23 miles total. Don't get me wrong they are paying good batch pay, but why can't I shop at local store and cut the mileage??? Has anyone els...

Anyone see things that you regularly say in license plates?

Please don't delete this posts like you have all my others. So, when I talk to my mom on the phone I always say "ok bye" before hanging up. Also, lately I've been followed in mass by these weird empty vessel freak gangstalking demon things. Like they follow me by car, into stores, and I've got drones following me. But I went to kroger on Sunday and I started to notice some odd licen...

What’s it like working in the bakery?

I just want to know what to expect. I will be working in the bakery at a Kroger owned store and my manager told me it’s pretty chill. I’m on the closing shift and based on what she said to me, all I have to do is get bread from the freezer, pack the bread, put stuff back in freezer, then sweep/mop the floors. Sounds easy enough. I’ve worked in deli for over a year now. The only worry is that...
