Reminder to clean your valves

150k bk2 3.8 with no catch cans. Soaked for 30 minutes in b12, agitated with a pick, then walnut shell blasted with a harbor freight sand blaster. Feels like it picked up an extra 30hp.

Contest Rocks Update

These pieces have been in Stage One for 6 days. Grit was used up, so I restarted them for another week. The one is clearly a large rock, but I have a perverse desire for a large shiny rock. So I’m packing it with smalls, and have cranked the Nat Geo “voltage slower-downer“ up a bit, to take advantage of faster tumbling (still not up to normal Nat Geo speed, but about 60 RPMs). I figured...

Are the newer Miller clearlights worth spending the extra cash on?

Shop near me has classic hoods with the original clearlight for $120 each but I'm seeing the newer digitals use 4X which puts them at roughly 3x the price (~$330+ new for a Performance etc). Other than more clarity, seems the differences between hoods comes down to viewing area size with the Infinity being absolutely ridiculous in comparison to a classic. Upgrading from a cheap harbor freight hel...

Defect and warranty question…

I’m fairly new to shopping at Harbor Freight. I’m not a tradesman or mechanic, but I like to have nice tools for DIY and repair work as I will choose to fix most things myself. I was excited about these slip-joint pliers. I just opened them and noticed the joint was inconsistently milled/stamped out. When the pliers are set to the middle position, the tips don’t line up evenly. Would this b...

Added a locker to my 27" US General series 3

I bought a small tool box for my basement and needed to expand, wanted the locker but knew I shouldn't put a side locker on that small of a tool box but did it anyway and I turned out great! Better than expected I bought the swivel castors listed for my box on the harbor freight website

Can I just use an industrial heavy liting belt?

Specified sport weightlifting belts are all, like 50+ dollars. I can get a back support belt for warehouse work from harbor freight for 10. Don't they do basically the same thing? Why spend all the extra money?

My experience using a hitch mounted motorcycle rack

TL;DR, This is a great solution for smaller bikes under about \~400 pounds. Anything heavier gets a bit sketchy and a trailer is a better solution if you can make it happen So I needed to move my 95 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 somewhere and was looking for a solution. Trailer rental availability in my area is unreliable, and I dont really have space to store a trailer at my house if I bought one. And I...

Just finished my first ever board.

Maple, cherry, and walnut for the center design. Then African mahogany with an ebony inlay for the boarder. All I used was my contractor table saw, an orbital sander from harbor freight and a cheap router from harbor freight. Already figuring out how to do the next one better. I still have a few coats of oil to do, plus conditioning. I'm also going to add little rubber spacers on the bottom. Its...

best way to charge larger power bank, inverter or dc?

I want to charge a big power bank (details below) in my car while driving. The power bank can charge from AC or DC inputs. Am I better off with an inverter or maybe going "direct" DC from car to power bank? "Direct" in quotes because I don't know much about car electric systems. **Auto:** 2023 Subaru Outback. **Power bank:** [Anker Solix F380 Plus](https://www.ankersolix.com...

charge a big power bank: AC from inverter, or direct DC ?

I want to charge a big power bank (details below) in my car while driving. The power bank can charge on 120v AC or DC inputs (I'm ignoring 240v AC which doesn't seem like a practical way to get that in a regular automobile). Am I better off with an inverter or maybe going "direct" DC from car to power bank? "Direct" in quotes because I don't know much about car electric system...

Cargo Cubby Storage Solution

For anyone who doesn't know, Harbor Freight sells these Apache 2800 weatherproof cases that fit *perfectly* in cargo area cubbies that're above the rear wheel wells. Previously I had the cubbies loaded up with various tools, straps, and first aid supplies and they would rattle around from time to time. Now they're nicely packed away in their respective cases with zero rattling. Shout out to [...

Case club or Apache/ insert

Snagging a new range case for my pistols. This price seems too good not to snag. Anyone suggest the Apache (harbor freight case) with inserts over this? I’m familiar with condition 1. And pelican cases I know are the industry standard… inserts seem to be about $40-70. Sig to the price point, this seems worth it

Greenwood Propane Torch Issues

When I first bought this, it worked flawlessly. I used it weekly for various gardening task. I found the lighting a little fidgety, but nothing a match couldn’t fix. Now, when I press the switch to increase the flame, it seems to only be at 10 to 20% increase, and sometimes it just burns out altogether and I have to re light it. The fuel source is solid, and plenty of it. I haven’t made any c...

First successful batch

My daughters and I did a whole batch woth the nat geo walmart tumbler, and at the end we were very disappointed like so many others. So then I found this sub and someone posted Michigan rocks from YouTube and I watched some of his stuff. Ended up with a couple harbor freight tumblers when they were on sale and some new grit, I used 8000 for stage 4 and 12000 for stage 5. In between stages I did a ...

Front bumper clips

Hi Fit Fam! I was just curious if anyone knows the Honda Part # for the black plastic clips that hold the front bumper in place? I recently had the bumper replaced and all the clips the body shop put in have all fallen out. I tried to use a generic kit from harbor freight but none seem to stay in. I also do not have the plastic cover for the under carriage of the engine. Thank you!

It’s not much but, it’s my humble start..

This is my tool collection over the past couple of years as my budget allows me to grow. Mostly Harbor Freight in this box with the exception of a couple of things. Let me know what you think. I find that I can do about 90% of everything I need to do on my lawn equipment and diy car maintenance and repairs.
