First night in the zone. The darkness is terrifying.
Currently stuck in a house until sunrise because of a group of... I don't even know what to call em. Scrap zombies? People/ harbor freight tool hybrids? Regardless, I'm stuck upstairs in a house holding the *sluttiest* angle on the stairs with a DB and my frog, hoping that sunrise is sooner than later.
10/10 great game, no notes!
Wondering if anybody has experience with duralast tools specifically the torque wrenches. looking at the 3/8 16-80 ft pounds one as a starter. its normally $30 but us workers ocasionally get 30% discount weekends so was thinking about using it on this instead of the harbor freight one i was looking at. This is a picture of a long-gone mini bike and sidecar from about 20 years ago. This is the only photo of it I could find.
**The Mini Bike:**
The beat up 3hp mini bike was given to me by a neighbor for working on his motorcycle. Cleaning the carb was the only work done on the mini bike. I didn’t even bother to straighten the front forks. Later, I left the forks bent because it could ju...
Anyone know where I can order this pivot pin for my floor jack?
I have seemed to have lost the pivot pin on top of my 3 ton harbor freight Pittsburgh floor Jack. Of course I don’t want to have to buy a new floor jack for $250, so I’m hoping someone could give me advice as to where to buy a new pivot pin. I truly appreciate it.
Side note: I thought it was a bleeder valve, but I guess it’s a pivot pin. I’m not exactly sure what its function is, can any...
Propane cook top and heater or $300-$500 harbor freight generator for when the power goes out?
I’m currently in Louisiana during an ice storm and I was wondering what my best option would be. I have an all electric house with no fireplace or wood stove/furnace. If you were me would you get a Mr. Heater buddy and a propane cooktop and stock up on gas or would you get a $300-$500 harbor freight generator?
Alright, this is a weird one, but I figure if anyone on the internet knows LED emitters it's the flashlight people.
I'm looking for a high-power LED emitter with some kind of heat sink that I can power with a dedicated power supply (of whatever voltage) for an art installation that is casting shadows. Think paper lantern, but the walls are laser-cut black cardstock with a bright light at the base...
If anyone’s looking for a cheap case, Harbor freight sells these for $13. My only complaint is the pick and pluck foam blocks are 1/2”. I wanted two layers around the boarder of the Chromatic so it left me with only a few slots for games.
I was hoping it would fit long ways down the left side, but I really had to smoosh it in the foam and it was hard to get in and out. Oh well, for $13 can...
Just a couple of Scandinavian lads up to no good, causing trouble in our neighborhood. Braving -15 below to get some protest essentials. Here’s what I picked up today:
\- face mask for pepper spray or non lethal projectiles
\-P100 respirator for gas chemical irritants
\- ear protection (for annoying whistles, other forms of non-lethal discharge, or you know… gunshots) (not gonna help too mu...

I will be back feeding my panel on my home. Has anyone unbonded the 4550 from harbor freight and can point me in the right direction on finding the bonded neutral?

Keep your hands warm with nitrile gloves under your other gloves
EDIT 2 - I WAS WRONG - I just did a test with right hand in a nitrile glove and left without, both under a light work glove.
My right hand was way colder.
/confidentlyincorrect
~~Cheap nitrile gloves worn under other gloves ( I was wearing thin harbor freight work gloves and shoveling snow before this picture ) can help keep your fingers from freezing~~.
~~\~\~EDIT : I have to include a YMM...
Super new to rock tumbling (and rockhounding in general).
I live in North Carolina and we have a big ice storm in coming with freezing cold temps and likely power outages.
I have two Harbor Freight tumblers running in my garage and am wondering what the best course of action is:
1. Turn them off and then start up post-storm
2. Just let them run, it will be fine
3. End the tumbling stage(s) earl...
20 hours and 1k miles in single digit temps, a 2025 Hybrid Maverick driving report
The vehicles:
Helping my son move 7 states away, me in a 2025 hybrid Maverick, my son and wife in a much older Rav4 drove the 1000+ miles straight through with numerous stops for rest, coffee, bathrooms, and drive swaps.
We'd originally planned to stop for the night about halfway but the 10" of snow forecasted to start in the early morning hours of that 2nd driving day changed our plans.

Hey folks, just an fyi, price gouging is illegal during a state of emergency in north carolina, it applies to both business AND PRIVATE SELLERS. If you see generators being sold for double their value brand new, thats gouging…i would ask you to flag marketplace ads that are doing this. Just an FYI, harbor freight had most of their generators on sale, for example, the predator 5000w inverter is...
Is it better to buy 1 large generator or parallel 2 smaller ones. If the cost is close to the same.
Looking to get a 120/240 generator to support my house essentials in a power outage.
Just looking to support the essentials Fridge, freezer, TV, Router, pool pump, blower motor for furnace Mainly just concerned for winter support. I have natural gas connection at my house but due to the major derating I figured I would run on gas power and only switch to natural gas if I had to. I have pretty sta...
What’s up my Prius brothers and sisters? I wanted to post about my EGR system cleaning I did recently, show some pics, and share some thoughts.
2012 Prius, Gen 3, Trim 5, 163k miles
I used the below three videos and followed along to remove and replace the EGR system. After watching the videos, reading the posts on reddit/priuschat, I decided to buy the three main components and to a ...
