Finally upgrading to better Oil Pastels

Just started using oil pastels this month! Got the very cheap ArtSkill Dollar general brand and absolutely love using them, even if they aren't amazing and can't blend at all. Finally upgraded and bought some Faber-Castell oil pastels. That was what I used in the final drawing of the boat. Looking for any advice for blending (tools/techniques) cause I find that everything tends to smudge together...

They only cost $15 clams. They keep them upfront by the register. Sad thing is they’ll only let you buy one per customer when you open it up you get of course the coin and the Pikachu promo card. Then this box had two packs of phantasmal flames and one mega evolution. Like I said, I don’t know much about this my daughter collects.
