I Went Undercover as a Mystery Shopper at Costco—Here’s What Stood Out 🔍🛒

As a **mystery shopper**, I recently took a deep dive into [Costco’s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ5K8QsTKoM&t=4s) **customer experience**—and let me tell you, this place is a **retail beast** unlike any other. From the moment I walked in, a few things immediately stood out: 🔹 **The Entry Gatekeepers** – You don’t just stroll into Costco; you **flash your membership card l...

Fuel pay on app doesn’t work but scan & go works. frustrating

Okay is anyone having this issue?? The past couple months the fuel scan on the app worked perfectly fine to pay for gas. In the store all my credit/debit cards work as well. These are also credit cards that i pay off in full and don’t go 10% over so i know they have more than enough balance for 20-30$ worth of gas. My issue is lately when i scan the fuel QR code and click pay, my payment decli...

Help me stretch the budget for a school event serving breakfast!

I am organizing an event for our elementary school of 700+ kids and their families providing breakfast. We are doing donuts, fruits, juice boxes and coffee. I'm getting donuts at a discounted rate from Krispy creme and coffee will be donated. I have $700 to buy juice boxes, donuts and fruits, also napkins, plates cups etc. Today I tried prices at Costco for juice boxes and it's going to eat half o...

What's it like? "Publix Vs Costco"

How many people here have worked in the SE US at Publix and what was your experience? Good vs bad, better career, better supervisor/employee atmosphere, raises, customers etc? I'm generally curious what the majority opinion is on these two companies from people who've been on the ground in these stores for a good while. Does Costco pay better vs Publix? All this for employees who are worth their s...

How is my Costco selling actual beer in the main store? Eden Prairie, MN

Naturally as a Minnesotan I'm used to alcohol always being sold in a separate store by law. Very confused to see actual beer for sale in the main store in Costco. It's stocked next to the NA beer and hop water. This particular Costco doesn't have a liquor store attached.... and in fact, Eden Prairie is one of those cities where only municipal liquor stores are allowed. Is this a bizarre error or i...

Beach Chairs

Would anyone have advice on where we can find used beach chairs for sale? On every trip we end up just buying beach chairs at Costco or Walmart. At the end of our trip we drop the chairs off at the Salvation Army store. We have searched second hand shops but have never found any beach chairs. I do know that you can rent beach chairs but that actually costs more for two weeks than buying a pai...

Help identifying some jeans?

First off, sorry if this isn’t proper for this subreddit, wasn’t sure where else to go and I’m sorry if this is tagged wrong! My boyfriend has had a longstanding favorite pair of jeans, I never really paid much mind to them, he got them at a thrift store last year. Well today they ripped and he was devastated. He asked me to look into the “nobody brand” and see if I could find another ...

Follow up Ruffles independent non scientific seasoning research

Last week u/FoodzyDudezy007 posted “Ruffles seem to have less seasoning on the chips” I decided to conduct an independent “scientific” study to determine if PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America division was hoarding that sweet sweet sunset colored golden dust for the elite class leaving the humble Costco shoppers to consume the equivalent of Original flavor… which frankly is the worst of t...

Using One Cashback Card and A Bunch Of Store Cards?

My main card is Fidelity, but I have a bunch of store-specific credit cards (Costco, Target, Amazon, PayPal, etc.) to get additional percentages off those stores when shopping there. I never use the store credit cards for any purchases outside those stores. I only use my 2% back Fidelity credit card. Is this a perfectly decent strategy? I was thinking of using this same strategy for airlines, but...

Appliance Shopping?

We need a new fridge and dishwasher. I am sick of the planned obsolence as ours are broken in many ways but still operational. I feel like I need to go ahead and buy the extended warranties, which I've always believed to be a scam but now I'm thinking it may be worth it to replace the parts that will absolutely break in the first year or two. I also want to not have to call a GD 1800 number for se...

Big Sky budget options

Just returned home from an epic family outing to Big Sky and thought I'd share some details that I wasn't able to track down anywhere online before my trip! I'm a 7/10 snowboarder, wife is 7/10 skier, and we had 2 kids (7 and 9) that we thought might die about a hundred thousand times. But they didn't, and we had a 10/10 winter experience! First budget tidbit is lodging. Wilson Big Sky is wher...

Anyone else think Costco’s meat prices aren’t any better than the regular grocery store?

I just don’t think their meat prices are that good compared to the other grocery stores. Whenever I buy meat at Costco my bill is $400-$600, of course along with other things. But when I don’t buy it’s like $150-200. What do you guys think? And can you recommend some (meat) products that I should buy and should not buy from Costco? Preferably organic Thanks!

Amazon FBA in the UK - any hurdles to cross starting in 2025? E.G I've heard you need invoices to sell on FBA now?

Hi all Looking to start some sort of side hustle in 2025 here in the UK. I WFH so have a lot of spare time, but don't have much space (like a shed or garage) to store products, so I'm looking into FBA. I'm quite good at spotting deals, being a veteran of HUKDs, as well as frequent user of Costco and other stores where I'm able to spot a good deal or two. However, from what I've heard, for ex...

Does anyone else feel like a crisis is looming?

I don’t know if it’s all the craziness in US politics lately and the articles about bird flu going around, which are now jumping species and have started affecting mammals… I was at Costco yesterday and it was so busy, presumably for Super Bowl weekend, but it just really triggered fear in me and reminded me of the chaos at grocery stores right before Covid hit. Does anyone else have a weird...
