My experience in weight loss - I’ve lost 185lbs

I tried to reply to another post with this information - they were asking about calorie count and stuff. It wouldn’t let me post it even after resetting the app and I’d written so much I had to share lol. It’s long, somewhat rambling, and kinda disorganized, fyi. —————————————————————————————— 5’3”, 41F, 116lbs, 15.3% body fa...

Pricy errors?

I'll preface this to say that I've searched and it looks like generally the answer is that if the wrong items/quantity are delivered then I keep or donate them, but is that still true if the error is large? I placed a Restaurant Depot bulk order yesterday, something I do once or twice a year (instead of BJs/Costco/et al) without issue normally. But this time there were three what feels like fair...

Decision: Buy it for Life VS. Affordability Upfront

**TLDR:** First-time homeowners in Newfoundland deciding between long lasting VS. affordability upfront: * **$1,500 acacia wood** – cheaper now but needs more maintenance/storage and may not last as long. * **$3,500 powder-coated aluminum**– more expensive upfront but more durable and low-maintenance in rainy weather. * **$2500-$4000 powder-coated aluminum** **HDPE Wicker**\- more expensive...

Purchasing refrigerator from Costco w/ Mastercard (extended warranty question)

Just trying to clarify something: When you purchase refrigerator from Costco . com it comes w/ a 2 year warranty. Mastercard's "Extended Warranty doubles the time period of your Covered Purchase’s original Manufacturer’s Warranty or Store Warranty up to a maximum of 2 year(s) following the day that the Manufacturer’s Warranty or Store Warranty expires." Incoming rant - Boring flooring options in stores the size of Costco

We went shopping for a new bathroom floor this weekend, it was depressing. How can a store be the size of Costco and have nothing but brown and gray wood floors? What happened to color? I look back on my childhood... my grandparents house (silent generation) had some wild floors and colors in their house. Linoleum with vibrant patterns, red & black shag carpet... she had a patchwork of co...

Trip report January-February 2026: Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Hiroshima, Tokyo (very long)

My partner and I went to Japan for the first time January 12-February 6 . We spent a week in Kyoto (including day trips to Kobe and Nara), three days in Hiroshima, and two weeks in Tokyo. The Japan subreddits were incredibly helpful in planning our trip, probably the resource we found most useful, so I wanted to pass on some of my impressions plus tips I haven’t seen lots of times before in the ...

I think my gym crush is taken…

Was going put this in « moving on » but I see this guy 4/5 times a week I dont think I could lol. Saw my gym crush with a girl for the first time since I started the gym (about 2.5 years). For context I started noticing this guy probably a year ago ish but didn’t crush on him too hard because I had another #1 gym crush. Fast forward to Spring last year, I did go up to my #1 but nothing reall...

Which CC ecosystem (Chase, C1, Amex, Citi) earns the most points in the midtier? A hypothetical using my own spending from February '26.

Hi y'all, I've recently gotten into travel rewards cards, and I thought I'd share with you an exercise I did on which credit card ecosystem would earn me the most points. The card setups that I used were intentionally midtier, were only personal cards, and contained no more than one annual fee card. The setups were: Amex- Just the Gold Card- 4x groceries, 4x restaurants, 3x flights, 1x gen spend ...

Canadians - looking for treadmill to buy in Canada: 3k CAD budget (can stretch), cushioning, long belt required. Toronto area

A lot of the popular models are hard to access in Canada - I need to find a treadmill that I can see/try at a shop, and is also available to purchase in-store or online. Any recommendations? I see Canadian Tire has horizon 7.0 AT, but no higher models. Costco has no Sole or Horizon products.

Beer Sausage, Potatoes, and Vegetable Soup

After work, I walked to Publix to buy some groceries and cook for my family tonight. Why not? Let’s start the first Monday of March with a good meal! I still had two Kirkland Lagers and some Wildbrine Sauerkraut from my last Costco visit, and two Corona Extras from an earlier grocery trip dating before then still sitting in the fridge. So, I decided to combine the four beers into a broth. I br...

Instagram, the Catholic Church, and false profits 🙏🏻🕍

Instagram might as well have been created by The Catholic Church itself as it eliminates the need to worship false profits (I.e. Celebrities) and continues to sustain the idealization that every human being is simply created equal. SOLUTION: Every single celebrity out there today who is actually a celebrity should delete their instagram account right now and prove themselves by publicly gaining...

Milk disappointment

This is now the third time in two months that we've picked up milk from Costco and gotten home only to discover that what had felt like a fine pack of milk in the store, actually had a whole in one of the bags and had made a mess all over our back seat or trunk. We went years without it ever happening and now three instances in two months? Had this suddenly started happening to anyone else?

Got a Costco rotisserie chicken that was cooked that day (yesterday), we put it in fridge overnight to cook today and we have half of the chicken left, can we store it in the fridge for chicken fried rice tomorrow?

Consumer Reports recently ranked grocery store prices nationwide. Publix didn't do too well.

A [new report from Consumer Reports](https://www.consumerreports.org/money/prices-price-comparison/most-and-least-expensive-supermarkets-a3157951568/) ranks grocery store prices nationally against those at Walmart, which is the closest thing there is to a nationwide grocer. Needless to say, Publix didn't do too well. The top stores in the survey were Costco, at 21.4% better than Walmart, BJ's Whol...
