My birthday is coming soon, and I want to see and enroll in stores that are close to me that have birthday freebies. Does anybody knows if these stores offer it or not? * Aerie * American Eagle * Ann Taylor * Barnes and Noble * Box Lunch * Charlotte Russe * Coach * Dillards * Dicks Sporting Goods * Five Below * Express * H&M * JC Penny * Pandora jewelry * Vans * Victoria Secret * Mar...
Little backstory; I’ve been the closing produce assistant manager at King Soopers (non-union) for 3 months now (it’s felt like far longer) and throughout this time I’ve been met with constant scrutiny, low staffing, a couple team members coming and going, and a write up thrown in there. We are a million dollar store, usually more than that. My dept. pushes $40k/week in sales on average. Lat...
Hello all! I've been looking for a compilation of data points for ways that folks have been able to make their in-store grocery purchases code as online (edit: I am specifically talking about stores that normally code as groceries, though I have included some exceptions with notes). I haven't found one, so I am going to create it! I will start by listing the ones I am familiar with, but please ad...
I started working at Kroger about 2 years ago. Jumped between various departments, but I finally settled in dairy. At the beginning, it was just an ordinary job, but over time I began to realize how poorly these stores actually function. From incompetent managers, lazy coworkers, and no standards, there are many flaws to be addressed. After transferring to another store for personal reasons, I tho...
I have been working for Kroger for almost 3 years. I have many serious health issues but I rarely call out sick. Last time was in the Winter when I got a Covid like illness and I had a doctor’s note. I started feeling sick yesterday and felt worse this morning, so I called at 7:30 am ( my scheduled shift started at noon) and talked to my store manager to let them know I would not be in as I di...
Hello, I’m interested to know what grocery store chain you have all had the most look at. If I had to guess it would be Walmart. If that’s true, what do you think? The reason is that Walmart provides so much treasure. I have only found anything Five times and three of them being from Walmart. The other two were from Kroger and Meijer. Meijer is a Michigan staple and I don’t even think Rich i...
Cheaper than the original $14.99, and definitely less than the current $19.99 at Walmart. Only the larger Fry's/Kroger family stores with a larger toy section will have this.
Our local union is in labor negotiations with Kroger in Indiana. As part of the new tentative agreement they’ve reached this week, they want to give gift cards to employees as “lump sum compensation“ instead of any retro pay. Are there any legal boundaries being crossed here? It just doesn’t seem right that they can trade wage pay for gift cards to their own stores.
I'm curious since I'm on my probationary period still(Been about a month and half). Do you think I'd be considered for rehire? I only ask because it'd be nice to have another potential job to fall back on if anything goes sideways in the future, getting a job is already hard enough these days.. I'd confidently say I'll be on good terms, I think I've done a good enough job for them to reconsider m...
for context I work at kroger and started out in the pickup department and worked there for 9 months, during this time I didn't let anyone know I was trans except this one other queer guy in my department who was cool about it. I started T about 4 months in without telling anyone bc I didn't want to go through the embarrassment of coming out to everyone and going by a different name, flash forward ...
When you drop off food to a customer (as a visit or thank you) or prospect (to get your name in front of them or to find out "Who do I call at some other location out of state?"), what do you do? We have done Cheryl's Cookies for Christmas the last few years for existing customers. For an in-person drop off last year (trying to get foot in the door) I got a pretty good cookie tray fr...
I work at a bakery for a Kroger owned company. My assistant manager taught me how to be the manager. I took over because she didn’t want the job. Every. Single. Thing. She has taught me to do was incorrect and fucked everything up. For almost two whole years now I have been doing nothing but fixing everything she’s ruined. She is unsanitary, she is lazy, and she has literally slept with half o...
I grew up poor (like legit, was on free lunch/family lived in areas where people get shot when sleeping by drive by, eating plain rice and beans for weeks) but I have turned the corner and am making very good money now (think mid 6 figures). A lot of my friends I made in high school or before are making around 30-60k. Linda, one of my friends from high school is currently a store clerk. I have fo...
I submitted a job application for Kroger a month ago, and since then I've called 3 times to see if I could get any updates. On my last call they said that they would get me in touch with their hiring manager Daniel, asked for my name and number, then hung up. So just to make sure they would follow through I went to the store to attempt to talk to their hiring manager directly. When I asked for the...
I’ve been reading the subreddit for a while and the horror stories are sad and appalling to read. That said, I never see much fry’s post, it’s always Kroger, Smith, Albertson (and 1-2 other divisions I forgot). My time at fry’s and the two stores I’ve worked for however seem a lot more cozy and less of a hellhole than the other divisions. idk if it’s because the stores I work for just ...
