After 2 weeks of using M720 on my work desk it feels so worn out.

I don't use a mouse pad. when I carry my mouse to the office I put it in the cloth bag and then put it in the mouse box it came with to avoid any damage but for 2 weeks it is still very significant amount of damage. I bought it from best buy and feels like their quality has gone down the drain. I am going to return this. Any other mouse below 100 I can buy which is long lasting?

I currently have a 2060super and was planning on upgrading to either a 5070 or rx 9070. Is there any reason not to buy the PNY RTX 5070 that Best Buy has for $550?
