What’s the process of immigrating?

I’m a 22 year old trans femme from the USA. I just got back from Canada, and suddenly realized I might want to move there. I’m thinking of applying for International Explore Canada for a year. I do have a supportive brother, who has helped me with asking the hard questions. It’s hard to be sure if I want to do this. I only have an associates from my community college, and don’t know what I...

Is not having a car seen as weird in Spain

I am from a northeast suburb USA.. A young family taking the bus and using it regularly carries a big of stigma. For example, here, if a family used the bus to get to the grocery store, they could be seen as a pity case or that they were perhaps unable to afford a car. Not having a car, is far from the norm here. This, I assume, is related to the fact that we don't have a great public transpor...

We should engineer the north american continent into a gigantic science project of total structural intelligence engineers and scientists are in charge of councils and stuff and we have like all structural form everywhere

you have a big biological machine called the north american continent. you have rivers and forests and grasslands. you can engineer a new society within it through class consciousnesses (all is one, each are sovereign and free) big domes for year round industrial farming and stable temperature controls. new cities (or upgraded) interlocked by a high-speed railway network. make the cities clean a...

Divide and Conquer | My opinion on the Agenda all Targeted Individual should be concerned about

If you watch the "news" as a targeted individual it becomes apparent that both sides are being played to give more power to government. This post is coming from someone who lives in the USA but I suspect it's the same all over the world. Outside of the divide and conquer politics playing out I see another area that should concern all targeted individuals. I believe the forces in the &quo...

Picking up where I left off and feeling very overwhelmed with all the information out there, any advice appreciated!

Hello, I’m 27 years old and have been wanting/attempting to learn Spanish to no avail. I live in the Midwest (USA) so I’m surrounded by several Latin American native Spanish speakers and have been my whole life. I am white but I have a quarter Lebanese ethnicity so I’m often mistaken as Mexican by strangers, peers, and even people who have known me for years. I remember as a young boy in ...

Beer for a neighbor?

Hi! I’m wondering what kind of beer to buy for my neighbors. They’re great people and have been super helpful since my dad passed, and I’m returning some ratchet straps they let us borrow. I want to return them with a 6 or 12 pack of something. I don’t know a lot about beer, so what’s a good, moderately priced beer that everyone likes that I can find in a grocery store or liquor stor...

Is it insensitive to say that I feel my culture is “American” or “Post-2000”?

I was thinking about the type of environments I grew up in and I feel that I have a lot that is very unique to living in the USA at this point in time. I have a large appreciation for the way resources are distributed through supply chains that provide food to grocery stores year round or the large variety of information online that happens to be in English. I love digital media, getting items shi...

Need outside opinions on a disagreement about tone and rhetoric

My friend posted the text below on Facebook (translated from another language). I’m not dismissing the issue he’s raising at all, and I agree it’s serious. What I react to is the tone. To me, it comes off as sarcastic and self-righteous, and more likely to make people defensive than reflective. I told him that... he told me I was tone policing. Am I being unfair? Does this feel like a good...

USA; someone ripped my son's autism awareness sticker off my car

I was at the grocery store and came out to find the sticker that lets first responders know my son is nonverbal and may not respond was ripped off my car and stuck to the concrete. I'm furious and I have half a mind to start a rampage. This is a safety feature for MY CHILD WHO NEEDS HELP. MY. CHILD. I don't care if you don't "believe he has it". I don't care if you think he shouldn't be...
